This turntable has two camps of people behind it – one that absolutely loves it, and another that think it’s overrated. Needless to say, we are from the first camp and rightfully so. Even so, we admit that there are some features which might not be to everyone’s taste. One the one hand, it is super portable, as it is the size of a briefcase, with faux leather and chrome elements on the outside. On the other hand, it lacks some of the many features turntables in this price range have. Either way, it is stylish and gets the job done. That is more than enough for most people.
Features That Make It Stand Out
The looks of this product will give you nostalgic vibe for sure. That is more than enough to fit it into the group of retro-looking turntables (along with the Wockoder Turntable). Perhaps the most noticeable feature here is the two front-facing speakers which are in fact quite good. They are set on the front part of the “briefcase” making sure that all you need to do to start listening to your favorite vinyl records is to plug it in.
On this model you can further plug in external speakers or headphones, depending on your needs. Either way, we think that the built-in speakers will suffice the needs of most people.
A little on the engine now. It is a three-speed belt drive which has speed settings of 33, 45, and 78 rpm. It comes with a nicely balanced tonearm and additional damping control. An often complaint of customers is that this turntable doesn’t offer any type of speed options. We think that this is a valid downside, but when you take the price into consideration, you start to understand the noticeable lack of advanced features.
Once again, this is a turntable which has three main selling points and now we will list some of the most important ones. For more information about the various quirks and features of portable turntables head to our Buyer’s Guide.
